Sherry-Lynn Squitti MA, RCC, AT is a registered clinical counsellor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors Registration # 8711. She holds a Diploma in early childhood education from Confederation College, Thunder Bay, ON, a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Victoria in Child & Youth Care, a Master’s Degree in Child and Youth Care from the University of Victoria and a Post Graduate Diploma in Art Therapy from the BC School of Art Therapy, Victoria, BC. Sherry-Lynn has worked extensively as a child and youth and family therapist helping parents learn a form of therapeutic play and “being with” that promotes attachment. Sherry –Lynn was instrumental in developing family services programs as well as raising the quality of mental health programs across the province of BC. Through her experience working within several early childhood communities and working within the Ministry of Children and Family Development, she created opportunities for children, youth and families to engage in attachment and trauma informed practices that promote connection to self and others. Her belief in the power of the individual to create change through the creative process has effectively influenced the lives of the families she has served. In addition to her private practice, Sherry-Lynn leads a multi-disciplinary team of mental health professionals at a clinic in Vancouver specializing in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health. She has post-graduate training in filial therapy, dyadic infant led approaches, mindfulness-based art therapy, play therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy for adolescents, and emotionally focused couple’s therapy. She has experience with individual as well as group counselling. Her current area of interest is to bring to her to community the SPACE (Supporting Parents with Anxious Childhood Emotions) Program.
